| If you had told
me nearly 20 years ago that my divorce, my ex-husband’s gambling addiction,
and my struggle to get out of debt would lead to me writing a book and creating
a website with interactive tools to get out of debt one paycheck at a time,
I wouldn’t have believed you.
At the age of 22, I had over 18 credit cards – all at their maximum
limit. This shock came after filing for a divorce from my husband who
was a gambling addict. To my horror, I discovered I was facing $50,000
of cash advances that were used to feed his addiction.
Soon after being divorced (and flat broke!), I began my career as an
administrative assistant for a well-known national bank. Over the years
I was promoted to a graphic designer and eventually became a marketing
manager. Ironically, it was my job to market banking products such as
home equity loans, auto loans, and credit cards! I was so grateful to
learn how the bank was making money on their products so that I could
get myself out of debt with this knowledge.
I made a promise to myself that if I ever managed to pull myself out
of my dire financial situation without filing bankruptcy, I would share
my experience with others. From that point forward, I was on a quest to
compile a collection of all the financial lessons I knew worked. During
the time I was in severe debt, I wish I had somewhere I could turn to
for budgeting my money, accessing savings tips, and a community of others
striving towards similar goals. I’m proud to introduce you to the
One Paycheck at a Time book and eTools -- sensible tools to get out of
whatever debt you may be facing.
I’m often asked what makes One Paycheck at a Time different than
the other debt reduction programs in the marketplace. If I had the pleasure
to answer you personally I would explain that my sole intention for creating
this program was to help you get out of debt. It would bring me great
satisfaction to know that I made a positive difference in other peoples’
lives.
This website is dedicated to my family, my friends, and colleagues who
consistently encourage me to dream big dreams. I will consider myself
successful if I help you pull yourself out of debt and end your constant
worrying about making ends meet. I would like to do everything I can to
ensure you have the necessary tools to help yourself. I welcome your questions,
comments, and feedback!
I wish you well on your journey to become debt free!
Sincerely,
Kimberly A. Griffiths
