Abstract: Planning a family reunion can be fun if you schedule enough time, ask for help from family members, and stay organized.

The following four ideas will help you start to plan a successful family reunion:

  1. Create a Guest List: As with any important event, create a list of the family members that will be invited.
  2. Form a Reunion Committee: Let other members of your family participate in coordinating the family reunion. Put someone in charge of the travel arrangements, activity schedules, and the finances.
  3. Select the Dates and Reserve a Location: Choose a date that is at least three months out so that your guests will be able to attend. Once everyone has agreed on a date, reserve a location as soon as possible.
  4. Family Genealogy: Remember to ask each member of your family to bring information they may have about your family’s history. During the reunion, family members can organize a scrapbook to commemorate the special trip.
