Abstract: Before you decide to refinance your mortgage, know what homes in your neighborhood are worth.

I'm often curious to know what the homes in my area recently sold for because I want to know the value of my home.  If you're considering selling your refinancing your mortgage, it's a good idea to know your property value.  If you are thinking about getting a mortgage refinance with cash out to consolidate debt, be sure to shop around to get the best refinance mortgage rate.

Now there's a website called Zillow that shows the estimate of how much your house would sell for and what your neighbors' got for their home!

You can see your home value (and your neighbors!) by entering in your street address. What a helpful tool if you are home shopping too! Check out the site at www.Zillow.com

Keep in mind that these are just estimates.  Although I think their database is getting more accuarte, it's not a substitute for doing the research on your home if you are going to refinance your mortgage or sell your home.
