Abstract: It's been said that it takes 21 days to form a habit (doing something consistently for 21 days).

Developing a new discipline (habit) may seem challenging and often times the hardest part is starting. Set yourself up to succeed. Instead of starting out by declaring that you'll meditate every day this coming week, set an intention to meditate at least one day for five minutes.

You may be saying, Tom, I can do better than that. You probably can and I'm sure you will. I set the bar real low to start because I often find that we may be very enthusiastic to start, but as soon as we miss a day when we commit to an "everyday" goal, there's a tendency to think failure and quitting.

Take the first small step and let the momentum build.
